FLASH FICTION WRITING WORKSHOP

SESSION ONE

Saturday, February 17,  4:00 – 6:00 pm

$75 plus $15 material fee paid to instructor at first meeting

Class size: 4 - 8, Adults

Instructor: Monica Wooton

Have fun writing learning to write Flash Fiction in this 2 hour workshop. Work
with published writer/practiced instructor Monica Wooton in a small group setting
using gentle critique, prompts, and writing techniques to develop short pieces of
fiction 500-1000 words. There will be several fun prompts - random words,
pictures and music - to get us going. Be surprised at how much fun this is and at
how effective short fiction can be! Wine, cheese and crackers will be served.

Instructor: Monica Wooton

Monica Wooton, is a graduate of The University of Washington in English and
creative writing, graduating magna cum laude. She has been a successful
writing teacher for Magnolia Historical Society and MAX for years. She is a wife
and mother of four. She has served as the project manager, an author, and
photographer on two award-winning published collections of writings (Magnolia:
Memories & Milestones; Magnolia: Making More Memories) of the history of the
neighborhood in which she lives. She has been the editor of a number of local
publications and has been a contributing journalist to local newspapers. Ms.
Wooton is currently working on a collection of short stories and essays: Like Eve
and Cain and Abel. As the oldest of ten, she finds silence sometimes too noisy
and writing a way to meet it bravely on the page.
